The WHY We Work Together
As you’ve probably noticed, there are many options when it comes to wedding business information and education. Blog posts, industry-related articles, educational events, online courses, etc. - and many of them are free or low-ish cost. So, WHY and WHERE should you think about investing both the time and the money in working with me through one-on-one coaching?
Well, you might not be surprised to hear that the WHY and WHEN tend to happen at about the same time. And it is usually when you find that - in our very personal world of weddings, and in an industry where most of us work for ourselves - you need more than just generalized education. You need - and should really want to work with - someone who not only understands the wedding business, but wants to spend time understanding YOUR business, and then works with you on solutions developed specifically for your business. A coach who is always focused on the goal of helping you achieve YOUR version of success, whatever that looks like for you.
It could be a specific issue or an area of business that you want to work through, or it could be more comprehensive help in getting your business reality to line up with your business vision, or anything in between. Whether you want a little help or a lot of help, we can work through it all together!
The HOW We Work Together
Like any great coach or accountability partner, I will be by your side instructing and guiding you using not only my successful business and training experience – both within the wedding industry and outside of it – and my vast network of resources, but also many other things that I’ve observed or learned along the way, as our wedding industry is constantly changing and we have to change with it. Instead of just telling you what to do or you trying to figure it out on your own, I can assist you in learning everything from the “why” to doing it through the “how” to maintaining it. Together, we figure out and implement solutions that best fit YOU and YOUR business.
The first step to make this happen is for us to have a short no-cost introduction call (about 15 to 30 minutes). During this call, we discuss the why you are seeking assistance and the what outcome you are looking to achieve. It also gives us a chance to get to know each other a bit so that by the end of the call, we can tell if we are the right fit for each other.
If we are the right fit, we will talk about options for working together. Since each business is different, and therefore, I believe that there are no generic businesses, I don’t have generic coaching options nor a standard coaching plan that every client must follow, which means that the recommendations we talk about will be tailored, based on your business and your needs as we discussed them.
The Cost
As mentioned above, I don’t have generic coaching options, which means that what we decide on with be totally up to you. However, I know most people want to have an idea of the cost before taking the first step and I completely understand that.
My simplest coaching option is 2 hours (usually two one-hour sessions) and it costs only $250. This is a great option for those who have a single issue or item to work through, since it provides us time to dig into it a bit and for me to propose solutions. And, by splitting it into two sessions, it gives time for you to start implementing, after which we can discuss it and adjust as necessary. This two-hour option is also perfect for those who have never worked one-on-one with a coach and/or want to to explore working with me, as it doesn’t require a more comprehensive commitment of either money or time.
Of course, most of my coaching clients and I work together over multiple sessions, allowing us to properly work through more in-depth issues and needs. The number of sessions is something we will discuss and agree upon based on your goals, and these sessions are done at $200 per hour. We will often plan on it being five or ten one-hour sessions ($1000 or $2000 respectively), and many of my coaching clients treat me like I’m on retainer for them. This means that rather than working for five weeks in a row on a specific date and time (which is still fine, and some coaching clients do want that from me), many prefer to take time to really work on whatever we talked about in an earlier session, and then come back for another one-hour session whenever a specific situation or opportunity arises that they want to work through, or when they are just ready to dive into more action steps. Since you always have access to my calendar, you can easily grab another session with me whenever you are ready for more time with me!
And, for specific projects, for example, getting you set up, or better set up, on a software package, we would discuss the needs and outcomes in detail, and then I would propose a fixed fee project.
I understand that for many in our industry, cash is tight and flows inconsistently, so I try to be as flexible as possible in both pricing and payment options.
